WTO working on agreement to eliminate fisheries subsidies

16 August 2017 – The upcoming meeting of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Argentina will put the elimination of government subsidies deemed harmful by the WTO high on the agenda. Member states are oping to reach a firm agreement on reducing and eliminating fisheries subsidies by December 2017, when they will convene at the 11th Ministerial Conference in Buenos Aires.
