25 August 2018 – As the rise of ride-hailing firms is another reason for increased congestion in cities, New York and London are planning one-year moratoriums on issuing new licenses for ride-hailing cars. However, a far better way for big cities to reduce traffic jams is to implement road pricing. Even though London already has a congestion charge since 2003, it falls badly short in three ways.
