13 September 2018 – At the Global Climate Action Summit in San Francisco, European Climate Action and Energy Commissioner Miguel Arias Cañete and California Governor Jerry Brown agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation on carbon markets. Future exchange shall include principles for alignment and the role of carbon pricing in investment decisions, economic competitiveness, and public benefits from generated revenues.
