29.10.2018 – Hybrid and electric car owners in Mississippi have to pay a new tax on their vehicles from October. Hybrid cars are taxed an extra USD75 dollars a year and electric cars are taxed USD150 dollars a year. The local government argues that hybrid and electric car owners should contribute to supporting state infrastructure, since the state transportation system is supported solely by the gas tax.
