25.10.2018 – The European Parliament voted in favor of new rules on road use charges in the EU to guarantee equal treatment of road users and to help Member States reach CO2 emission reduction targets in the transport sector. EU Member States which currently impose time-based road charges will have to switch to distance-based charges for trucks and buses by 2023; and vans from the end of 2027.
