Macron plotting to tax foreign lorries which 'only cross through France'

25 September 2018 – In a new environmental crackdown, the French government is planning to introduce a tax on foreign heavy goods lorries. According to the French Ecological transition minister, some of them are “only crossing over France” and not even paying fuel tax, deteriorating resources that are needed to fund investment in the road and rail networks.
