8 June 2017 – Shipping’s decarbonisation is inevitable and now widely accepted. It will create major changes in the shipping industry as the sector moves on from using fossil fuels to decarbonized energy sources such as batteries and synthetic fuels. To identify specific solutions in the sector, a new work group led by the Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition (CPLC) has been launched with the aim of advancing carbon pricing as a tool to lower the shipping industry’s emissions.
