What: Launch of the Natural Capital Program for Financing Africa’s Development

Who: The African Development Bank, the Green Growth Knowledge Platform, the World Wide Fund for Nature, the German development agency GIZ, the UN Environment Program, the MAVA Foundation, the International Institute for Sustainable Development, and Economics for Nature.

Join the African Development Bank and partners for the launch of the Natural Capital Program for Financing Africa’s Development.

Dr. Rabah Arezki, Chief Economist and Vice President of the African Development Bank Group in charge of Economic Governance and Knowledge Management, will deliver a keynote address on the overall theme of the webinar and its relevance to a green recovery in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic in Africa.

Government officials from Nigeria, Tanzania, Madagascar and Mozambique, whose countries are participating in the project, will take part in the event. It will also include senior representatives of the above-mentioned project partner institutions, as well as those from the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, and the African Union Commission.

The webinar will provide an opportunity to discuss practical ways to integrate natural capital approaches into development financing.

The meeting will also allow the program’s partners and experts to present the results of a pilot infrastructure project conducted using natural capital approaches with the support of the African Development Bank and its partners in Tanzania.

Simultaneous interpretation in English and French will be provided.
