Carbon tax most efficient way to meet climate goals for Germany

13 July 2017 – The German Renewable Energy Federation (BEE) proposes that Germany should implement a national tax on carbon emissions to meet its emission reduction targets in the an efficient and straight forward way. The national carbon price should complement the existing European Emissions Trading System (ETS) to increase the price for emitting one tonne of COâ‚‚ to 25 euros by 2020, up from the ETS’ s current five euros per tonne.
