Canadian Conservative leader Andrew Scheer promises to repeal the carbon tax if elected into office

16 October 2019: Canada’s federal election is a week away and the incumbent Liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is polling closely to the Conservative leader Andrew Scheer. The latter has promised to do away with the carbon tax, which he says “hurts the bottom line of Canadian families, but also does not get [Canadians] closer to [their] emissions reduction targets”.
