World Bank Energy Subsidy Reform and Delivery Technical Assistance Facility

The Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP) is a global knowledge and technical assistance program administered by the World Bank. In 2013, ESMAP launched an Energy Subsidy Reform and Delivery Technical Assistance Facility to support countries as they design and implement subsidy reform programs.  The Facility involves close collaboration with key stakeholders such as government ministries, think tanks, and civil society organizations. ESMAP also hosts a web-based platform called the Energy Subsidy Reform Online Community (ESROC) which brings together government officials, experts from the World Bank and other international organisations to share insights and experiences with reforming energy subsidies. For further information, visit the ESMAP website.
