Shifting Gears: How the world’s leading financial centres are entering a new phase of strategic action on green and sustainable finance (UNEP & FC4S Network)

The International Network of Financial Centres for Sustainability (FC4S Network), which is a partnership between the world’s financial centres, and the United Nations Environment Programme recently published a report that offers an in-depth assessment of actions in 13 financial centres, which are members of FC4S Network across Africa, the Americas, Asia and Europe. The reports investigates and offers insight on how financial centres are mobilizing their knowledge, connectivity and capital to help solve tough financing challenges that our world faces today.

Among the findings of the report, it is revealed that these hubs are harboring policy innovation, diversifying financial instruments and increasing professional services such as sustainability rating services, consulting firms, sustainability research and carbon trading. Financial centers are also applying financial technology solutions to sustainable finance challenges and increasing international collaboration by working together, including through bilateral projects.
