Regional workshop – Reforming Fossil Fuel Subsidies for an Inclusive Green Economy

The second regional workshop of the Green Fiscal Policy Network was organised in collaboration with the Global Subsidies Initiative and explored policies that support the production and use of fossil fuels, share countries’ experiences with subsidy reform, and identified remaining knowledge gaps in terms of data, methodology, and policy guidance. It brought together representatives from ministries of finance, energy and environment from 40 countries, mostly in Africa, providing an opportunity for countries to discuss the opportunities and challenges they face in designing and implementing subsidy reform.
