State of South African City Finances (SACN)

In its annual State of City finances report, the South African Cities Network (SACN) makes a number of recommendations for tackling challenges facing the finances of nine of the largest cities in South Africa. One of the key focuses of the report is the introduction of private vehicle charges, as South Africa’s current road use charges do not reflect the actual marginal costs of drivers using the roads.
