18th Global Conference on Environmental Taxation (GCET18)

The Global Conference on Environmental Taxation (GCET) has been held every year since 2000, bringing together specialists from around the world and providing a forum for the exchange of ideas and research findings on environmental taxation and other market-based instruments. GCET18 was hosted by the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law and focused on Innovation Addressing Climate Change Challenges: Local and Global Perspectives. Topics explored at the conference included:
  • Climate change policy, biodiversity protection, environmental stewardship, pollution control, water conservation, land degradation, renewable energy, mining and rehabilitation.
  • Market instruments such as carbon pricing, emissions trading schemes, other environmental taxes, subsidies, direct action or spending programs and tax concessions both positive and perverse.
