Revealed: UK provides billions in credit to fossil fuel industry despite clean energy pledge

19 April 2017 – A joint investigation by Greenpeace Energydesk and Private Eye found that £6.9 billion in financial support has been provided to fossil fuel companies by the government agency UK Export Finance. This contrasts with the UK government’s commitment to back clean technologies “instead of supporting investment in dirty fossil-fuel energy production”.
